Elastic couplings are couplings capable of transmitting power between two shafts (e.g. motor/pump) while also compensating angular, axial or parallel misalignment. It is thanks to the elastic element of the coupling that compensation takes place, also guaranteeing absorption of vibrations and torsional overloads. In this sense, the elastic coupling can significantly extend the service life of mechanical systems. These couplings do not require lubrication.
The Rototyre coupling consists of: Two cast-iron hubs (UNI EN 1561 EN-GJK-HB200) C40 steel fixing rings 80 Shore rubber sleeves (operating time -20/+80) The rubber sleeve, tightened on both sides between the hub- ring flange, transmits the torque. The joint thus made is able to correct axial, radial and angular misalignments. The elastic elements ensure the absorption of tears and vibrations and can operate at temperatures from -20°C to +80° C while maintaining their performance.
